HOW WE GOT STARTED...Stomski
Horse Trailers opened its doors for business in 1985. Owners John
and Catey Stomski were already in the horse industry with their boarding
stables, Willowood Stables; which had been operating since 1970.
It was a family business with everyone helping with the feeding and
stall cleaning. Our children (Sean, Chris, Shannon, Shalyn) were
all showing at the Quarter Horse, 4-H and local shows. We needed
to have a business that would allow Catey to stay home with the kids
during the summer but still contribute to the family income. The
target was $100/week for grocery money! An opportunity was
presented to us by C & S Trailer Sales in Lakeland to become a
sub-dealer for them on the east coast of Florida. We had purchased
a trailer from them and were sending them customers all of the time.
They suggested we become a sub-dealer and we jumped at the opportunity.
Our original inventory consisted of 2 trailers. We sold the
original 2 and were sent 4 more. This relationship continued for
several years. Eventually we became a separate dealership but we
will always appreciate their guidance and encouragement.
In 1990, we met John Shipman, President of Sundowner Horse Trailers, at
the South Florida Fairgrounds Gold Coast Quarter Horse Shows. We
were impressed with the quality of the Sundowner trailer and were ready
to sign on as a dealer. Sundowner has been our major brand since
1990.
John and Catey has combined their talents to create a full service sales
and repair trailer dealership in South Florida with over a million
dollars in inventory and the best little horse trailer repair shop in
all of Florida! Stomski Horse Trailers features Sundowner horse
and stock trailers and Trailers USA horse trailers.
Stop by and meet our friendly staff. We are eager to meet you and
help you with all of your horse trailer needs! Give us the
opportunity to earn your business...you won't be sorry.
Both Raymond and Darren have been to
welding school and are certified to do MIG welding and use the plasma
cutter. They both have gone to Dometic product training school to
learn about Dometic roof mounted air conditioners, heat pumps, comfort
control center systems, refrigerators and A&E awnings.
Catey Stomski
(seen right) and Linda Cook (seen on left) are our
staff in the office. They answer the phone and schedule appointments for
trailer repairs and service. They also take care of checking you in and
delivering your trailer back to you when it is completed.
They get you hooked up and
down the road to your next event.
Generally, appointments are handled by Linda and trailer sales are
handled by Catey.
